Does anyone out there know of any accredited college/university (RA or GAAP) that offers a Ph.D. or D.M.A. in Music through distance education?

    Thanks

There is always the old standby, Union Institute & University, where you can design your own doctoral program.

Other than that, I'm sure there are some British, Aussie, or South African options.

    Bruce,

Thanks for your speedy reply. I know Union. It's a fine school. The problem is that it's over $5,000 a trimseter, that's over $15,000 a year! I'm hoping for something cheaper. $30,000 - $45,000 for a doctorate is a bit out of my league right now.

    Thanks again Bruce.

    Dear Clint,

Thanks for the links. The University of South Africa only has a Doctoral program in Musicology which requires a Master's in musicology (mine is is Music History/Composition), so that's out.

The University of Leeds looks promising. They have various options for a Ph.D. in Music. I've been corresponding with them and am awaiting an evaluation.

    Thanks again Clint.

no problem. I am sure there are other opportunities out there, also. I just happened to remember those two from a search I made last year, for my wife.

    good luck
