Does anyone have any updated information on Boyer Graduate School of Education? I have read earlier post and people seemed well pleased with this school.

I also know at one time they were a part of William Howard Taft but seperated a few years ago.

Any news on their possible accreaditation I saw mentioned in earlier post?

Any news on this school in the last month? Only students seem able to get into their sight...or have I missed something.

    Thanks,

A search for "boyer graduate school of education" producd 41 hits, of which 25 were shown. A search for "boyer graduate school" yielded 60 hits with 31 shown, basically the same ones as in the first search. Apart from the school's own pages, some respectable but unremarkable cv's and a few online guide sites, here's the highlights:

    1. As Decimon points out, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez likes Boyer

    2. Something called the American Educational Research Association doesn't (but seems to think that Boyer is in South Dakota?)

    3. A company cites a Boyer dissertation in promoting its assessment products

    4. A University of Northern Colorado newsletter announces a Boyer scholarship

Frankly, this seems pretty weak for a doctoral level university.

I suspect that Sanchez knows nothing about Boyer. Sounds like some pro forma servicing of a constituent entity to me.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to look up this information but I have seen most of this information over a peroid of time. The Sanchez information was actualy on the web-sight and in the information packet sent to me in the mail. In the last month or so, maybe less, this schools web-sight has been closed to visitors. Maybe they are simply changing things?? I'll call the ole phone line again later today. Any news, I'll post it.

    Just curious?

    a simple phone call..

I recently talked to the Boyer Graduate School of Education, something I was unable to do earlier. I talked to a nice lady who said that the school was not taking any new students at this time.
She also said that the school is not offering the Doctor of Education degree any longer.

She did say that the school will soon be back open to new students in a few months when they unvaile the new Master of Education program.

She also said that they did seperate from William Howard Taft a few years ago to be an independant institution but will reunite as a school under the William Howard Taft University system when they reopen

    So now we know.

    Thanks to everyone!

    Re: a simple phone call..

Did I mention that William Howard Taft recently received DETC accreditation? Did I mention that DETC doesn't accredit doctoral programs?

I'm sure that it is all coincidental.

    DETC

    Tom,

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I sort of figured that one out, it was written between the lines so to speak. The real question would be... by seperating the two schools from each other were they hoping to keep the Boyer School a doctorate program and DETC said NO...to close for comfort, therefor they reorganized and rejoined back with Taft.
