Re: Re: New Online Astronomy Doctorate

If I can convince the wife to put up with another doctorate program I would like to work towards the professional doctoral degree in astronomy education. I probably wouldn't go the next step and obtain the Ph.D. in their sequence.

Unsure of what the acronym would be for the Doctor of Astronomy as DoA sounds a bit morbid. DoA was the initial acronym proposed when this program was being considered.

    Thanks for asking --

I would venture a guess that it is more demanding than what is depicted on the web site- doctoral level studies in astronomy would imply a solid foundation in mathematics and physics I would think. It does look very interesting and alluring if one would start with their Masters program and progress from there. What better job is there than being an astronomer? Oh to be 25 years younger...

    GENO,

Yes, it can be demanding. I worked with many of the same profs. (now at James Cook) when I did my Univ. of Western Sydney masters.
