The State of Hawaii has settled the pending litigation against Honolulu University of the Arts, Sciences and Humanities. The settlement is documented by a Stipulated Judgment and Permanent Injunction which was filed with the First Circuit Court of the State of Hawaii on July 8, 2003. Under the terms of the settlement, Honolulu University ASH is enjoined from failing to properly and adequately disclose that it is and was not accredited; from indicating or suggesting that the State of Hawaii licenses, approves of or regulates its operations in any and all of its promotional materials and from failing to comply with Hawaii's laws regulating unaccredited degree granting institutions. Honolulu University ASH has also agreed to provide a full refund to any degree holders or degree applicants who enrolled by, in or through any of its foreign agents, conditioned on the return of any diploma awarded. It has also agreed to pay civil penaltiers, attorney's fees and costs of $19,500. Jeff Great job. Note to authorities in other states - if anyone gives a rats behind something can be done. Hawaii has lax laws so it is totally amazing that many schools can't work within them.
Well done! The song "Another One Bites the Dust" plays in my head every time I read one of these delightful threads. http://www.queenwords.com/lyrics/songs/sng11_02.shtml
That'll work. I always thought of Edith Piaf singing "Non, je ne regrette rien," but I couldn't quite say why.
After the failure of the 1962 French coup and the generals were sent off to their eventual execution, the Foreign Legion troops were returned to their barracks singing "je ne regrette rien." But then I don't have to tell Unk that, I believe he was leading the chorus.
