Anyone had experience with Indiana Wesleyan University's MBA program?

You would probably get a better response under Distance Learning Discussions because Indiana Wesleyan University is a fully accredited university in the Northcentral region. A very well respected Christian school that has been around for a fairly long time (for US schools).

Thanks for the reply. I realized I was in the wrong discussion group after I posted the message.

  4. Classes start with a prayer.

Use the cohort system - so the strong ones carry the weak ones. I did not like that at CGSC either.

This is a complaint at the University of Phoenix as well.

In some military training situations, it is a very desirable thing to build teamwork. But I'd have to agree with Dave. In an academic one, especially one where you're graded individually, you should have your success in your own hands.

Are cohorts graded as a group? I've never been in a cohort program so my curiosity is up.

  7. Your mileage may vary...

but generally yes...everybody gets the same grade

So the person willing to settle for a "B" can relax knowing the people wanting "A's" will carry the load.

The instructor CAN personalize the grades - the problem is visibility - and separating contribution from personality conflicts.

In my opinion, cohorts are used to subsidize the less able.

    Dantes Civil War Test

I just took the Dantes' Civil War test - How long do you usually have to wait to get your grade? The testing administrator wasn't sure - she thought about a month.

Also, I studied everything on the "study guide" - especially dates. There were alot of questions that were NOT on the guide - and not ONE date! I'm not sure how I did. I went in pretty confident - but I was pretty disappointed coming out. It is a pain having to wait over christmas break till I get my results!

Anyone have similar experiences in the other tests available? I'm doing Art History next and would appreciate any hints at how to study for it!

What other programs are set up like this. Is this typical of DL MBA programs? I do better in a competitive program where the top performers make me push myself. I need things like class rankings to keep me from being lazy.
