Does anyone know how many Upper level credits are required for Excelsior College Business degree?

I looked through Lawrie Miller's site, (which was extremely helpful) as well as the catalog from Excelsior itself (which was not helpful at all) and I just can't seem to figure this out.

On the BA in 4 weeks site, I seemed to count a total of 27 credits in the business degree outline, 15 of which were business related, the other 12 were not. This obviously is less than the minimum of 30 upper level credits for the Liberal Arts track. Excelsior's catalog points out that you must have 12 upper level credits in business out of 45, but it does not address how many upper level credits, if any, are needed with the other 75 credits.

I am hoping that 12 would be all that's needed, but my instinct tells me that it probably would require at least some credit within the Arts and Sciences portion to be upper level.

My boyfriend has 72 lower level credits, none of which are in business. This would be sweet if all he had to do was take all 45 of the business credits and test out of the remaining 3 Arts and Sciences credits. If there are more than 12 total credits that are required to be upper level, he will end up having to earn more than 120 credits to complete his degree. Not the end of the world, but it will take longer that way. Anyone with experience with this issue? Thanks.

I just finished my degree in Business Operations Management from Excelsior, and I had 12 upper level hours and 18 hours total in the business concentration. But I also had alot of other upper level classes. The best way is to spend the 60 dollars and have an unofficial eval done. Hope this helps.

Call Excelsior and they'll give you the answer.

I believe the answer to be that no upper level credits are required outside of the major subject. If they require but two semesters of college math, English Comp., history, etc. then those would be lower level courses.

from the business catalog, page 30
    http://www.excelsior.edu/pdf/cat_bus.pdf

you must earn a minimum of 12 semester hours of advanced-level business credit to qualify for a business baccalaureate degree

from the liberal arts catalog, page 19
    http://www.excelsior.edu/pdf/cat_la.pdf

you are required to demostrate a high level of learning by accumalating at least 30 upper-level credits

so perhaps you need 12 from business and 18 from other ??
