I was doing some on-line research about Online Phd Programs, both accredited and non--accredited. While browsing Westbrook U's website, I notices it is OASIS certified. This is a certification that NYS agencies and educational instutions need to have in order to provide education and/or servies dealing with addictions counseling - that may lead to a certification. Is there any news on Westbrook becoming accredited? How about Cal Coast and SCUPS? (I know this was asked before in another thread by someone else). Also, I see a lot of talk about Kennedy- Western University here on the boards. My friend recieved a catalogue from them, which looked very impressive. However, Their name is synomous with a degree mill. Is there any change with that?
Westbrook has been claiming they're going to apply for regional accreditation since 1997, at least. I see nearly zero chance that they'll ever even make it to a pre-candidacy site visit. Cal Coast seems to be moving in the DETC direction. K-W continues to provide the same substandard services it's always provided, as far as I know.
