I was just on the phone with the admissions office of Luther Rice Seminary. I requested a catalog and the lady asked me if I would be enrolling before July 1, because their Masters Programs will be changing. The change will involve residency requirements (two modules during the course of the degree) for those who register after July 1. I asked if this had anything to do with accreditation and she replied yes. I inquired if they were pursuing RA or ATS and she replied "something like that." Maybe someone here has more insight to this, any inclination of what is going on at LRS?

I'm skeptical when a new member writes a post such your's, because it sounds like an attempt at publicity. But since I don't know you I'll assume you're new to distance learning.

I don't know anything about Luther Rice other than what I read in your post. I was unable to access their website. But there is one point to consider. Their reply to your question about them seeking RA status: "Something like that," does not sound very promising.

I would recommend your read up on regional accreditation, and find one of the fine schools that are RA.

that is great to hear about Luther Rice Seminary. I think that they are a great school and RA will be another step in the right direction. TRACS is good but RA is much better.

It would not surprise me. LRS has been a very solid school and seems to be well cared for as an institution. A virtual whose who of the SBC (eg Charles Stanley). I wonder if they are going for ATS. I remember once calling them and getting the impression they would *never* apply for RA.

Plumdog10, I understand your feelings. However, I am not exactly "new" to this forum I have been registered here for over a year. I haven't posted much though. I am not new to distance learning since part of my bachelors was finished externally through an RA school. I am just curious to what is going on, but whatever it is will require residency after July 1.
