found this short, easy exam on the web

for those of you who have taken a CLEP econ exam, how do these online question compare with what's on the CLEP test

I've never taken an econ class, never read a book on the subject, yet found this online exam pretty easy, mostly common sense

I'm feeling pretty full of myself, I think I may just go out and take the econ exam

As a former economics professor I took the test. Yes, it is rather easy and common sense .... but unless you can state and explain the law of supply, the law of demand, and how they interact along with the circular flow of income and product I would do a little pre study before I took a for credit econ test.

    Hi James,

I have taken the macroecon clep test and just finished the short, easy exam you mentioned. I would guess that about 20-25% of the questions on the clep are as difficult (or easy as the case may be) as the 13 questions you linked to. The rest of the questions are moderately more difficult.
Should you take the clep? Well, I had a lot of fun studying for the macro and micro tests, perhaps you would too. I used a macro text (Mankiwn), an old 1950ish micro text that I got for free, and cliffs quick review macroeconomics to review the night before. I scored a 72 (macro) and 77 (micro). Because I am pursuing a business degree (accounting), and plan on continuing on to an MBA from the best school I can get accepted into, I want to score as high as possible on business related exams. If you only care about getting a minimum passing score, I would recommend buying or borrowing the cliffs quick review book and reading it (the macro/micro/both part/s depending on the test/s) before you take it, just to be safe.

    Good luck,
    Tony
