    Hey, all.

First, let me apologize for the downtime. In the two and a half years that DegreeInfo has been in existence, we've never had as much downtime, even during the time the degree mill hackers tried to disrupt things... it's been a series of less-than-wonderful technical glitches.

To support the increased load on the servers that we will incur by making the school search engine completely free, we moved DegreeInfo to a brand-new, much faster server over the weekend. We'd been testing it for several weeks with no problems... and then, less than 24 hours after the transition, the drive started going flaky, first causing the intermittent database errors, and then failing completely.

Unfortunately, it died completely as we were attempting to back up the latest changes and the last two days postings... so the last two days messages are lost... but everything else was already backed up, so we'll have it back and working soon.

In the meantime, we've moved the site back to the old server, where the old database (from 2 days ago) is still intact. Once we've replaced the errant drive in the new box and tested it out a bit, we'll try moving again.

Sorry for the inconvenience, please bear with us as the "construction dust" settles.

Oh... and yes, we know there are some little glitches on some of the pages of the new site... we're still tweaking some of those things with the designer, and will have that fixed as well within a few days.

I think we got a couple dozen messages of congratulations on the new look, as well as a couple dozen messages from anxious people waiting for the forum to come back up... we do realize how important the discussion board is to a lot of people, and, believe me, we'll be implementing even more robust redundancy to try and prevent any future problem.

Thanks again for all your support!

Chip, Nathan, Nate, Bill, and the rest of the DegreeInfo team

On the assumption you guys are not exactly getting wealthy off this site, I think the members should be thanking you for all your efforts.

I really like the new look -- very professional and really top notch. Way to go guys! :)

Web sites like DegreeInfo.com illustrate the best the Internet has to offer -- free, quality advice for people looking to better themselves through distance education. You guys should be proud. I have you and the "senior members" on DegreeInfo.com to thank for my distance learning master's degree.
