Associates Degree...now the school!

Hi All

Well, I think I have enough credits for at least an Associates Degree. I received about 50 of them thru Dantes/Clep exams. The other 12 thru Jr.College. I'm in California

So, now I'm trying to decide on the "BIG 3" schools. I've been reading thru the form and I've checked out the websites of Excelsior/TESC/COSC and so far..

Excelsior(ugh! that name!), good price, uses the minumum Ace score(Dantes/Clep)usually, I've called and they seem nice

TESC- Like the name(shouldn't matter I guess but....), A little expensive for me(1,900+), uses minumum Ace, But I've called/contacted them with questions and it seems a little unorganized/crazy there?
I'm afraid to send my money and pay for my transcripts to be sent there for fear of them losing my stuff!

COSC- Name=cool, cost=great, They don't take the minimum Ace for some of the Exams(darn!),But they are extrememly helpful and nice. Bent over backwards to answer any questions. Maybe because they are a small school?

SO, anyone with experiences or suggestions?
I would really love to go to TESC, but I'm a little afraid of the "craziness".
It would be great if Excelsior could change the name back, I told my boss the name and he couldn't stop laughing. He said something about Star Trek....

I completed my BS from COSC and they were very helpful. I have the same feeling about TESC. COSC seemed to be the most pleasent to work with.

They were great!

 

I have colleagues who received their degrees from TESC. Without exception, they were pleased with the results.

I received my BA from COSC and whole-heartedly recommend it. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, flexed some deadlines to make sure I completed everything in the desired timeframe and responded well to a couple of courses that they at first excluded and then agreed to allow.
I also like the fact that if someone asks, "What is Charter Oak State College," I can respond that it's a public college that is part of the Connecticut education system. Then I can tell them how the school is named after the famous Charter Oak where leaders of the Connecticut colony hid their charter of independence (which was a precursor to the American Bill of Rights) when British troops came through town to squash the rising tide of revolution. Since I work in the field of journalism, this bit of freedom-of-speech trivia lets me return the interview to my knowledge and abilities.
