I've been informed by the Excelsior Admissions Office that no labs are required for the courses in the AST/BST programs. Thought that might be good info for some.
That's correct. It also has several different concentrations you can choose (eg. BS Technology w/ speciality in electro-mechanical technology). Pretty good for military who have alot of MOS/rate credit that want a degree to complement their experience. There are also the BSET degrees (electronics and nuclear) that are ABET accredited (but need somewhere close to 8 lab courses). There is also a computer technology which is fairly close to the BSET in electronics, but is not ABET accredited. Best Regards, Bill
Hi Bill, I posted that because I thought there may be some who would benefit from a kinda, sorta, general science degree that can be earned through testing out and some DL study. It might get someone a foot in the door to some technical career from where a more rigorous degree could be earned. Not sure what the personal benefit would be, other than personal satisfaction, but, at the age of 57, I know I won't be working as an engineer or research scientist so this degree should suit my any purpose.
