I was reading on LSU's website that they do not offer financial aid for their courses. It went on to say that you could get financial aid through other institutions. Is this saying that if I am registered at "you name it state university" and i want to take a class, that i can get aid through that school somehow? Any explanations? Thanks, drew
“Who is LSU?” Randy Newman even sang about it: College men from L.S.U. Went in dumb. Come out dumb too. Hustlin' 'round Atlanta in their alligator shoes Gettin' drunk every weekend at the barbecues Denver Graduate of LSU New Orleans (Now known at UNO)
I believe they're referring to non-academic institutions. Probably best to start with this: Financial Aid
I had originally thought that until I looked at this: http://www.is.lsu.edu/college/faq/#1_25 so i don't know???????
The above is all I see on financial aid and, as I interpret it, the reference would be to non-academic institutions. Some colleges like Hillsdale refuse federal funds so as to escape the "strings" attached. Maybe the Huey Long and short of it is that LSU will take funds from anyone. I'd just like to add that the LSU tuition is certainly good:
Decimon, Thanks for your help. Although I am not following you on this, your help is invaluable nonetheless. THANK YOU. drew
You're welcome. The financial aid I think they refer to would be VA benefits (Federal or State), scholarships (there are many but I know almost nothing about them), other State aid (for a school within the State in which you reside) or student loans. As an example, this is for Excelsior College, Financial Aid, and part of it applies to just New York residents. LSU looks good but as a Kentucky resident you might get a better deal with a Kentucky State college. Possibly a good tuition rate and possibly some State aid.
