Has there ever been a class action law suit against a school?

I was wondering if there have been any class action law suits against a school or mill for false advertisement about there degree's, accreditation, or acceptance.

Especially schools that are mills, or approved, but not accredited.

The problem will always be convincing a class-action plaintiff's lawyer that any judgment obtained will ever be collectible.

A law firm in Louisiana advertised in USA Today and elsewhere for students/victims from the fake LaSalle University for this purpose, but apparently nothing ever came of it.

And several holders of degrees from the fake Columbia State University claimed they were trying but again, nothing.

Would this lead one to conclude that there are very few innocent victims of degree mills?

In the LaSalle matter, the FBI retrieved over $10 million, plus $2 million more from selling the owner's riverfront mansion (which was owned by his fake church, since he had taken a vow of poverty).

Every alumnus and alumna got a letter from the courts offering them a refund of tuition. All they had to do was return their diploma(s).

I've never been able to learn the numbers, but I as told that the majority did not ask for the refund.

One of these non-returners is America's best-known most-quoted 'celebrity' polygraph expert whose only degree, I'm pretty sure, is his LaSalle Ph.D., and of course he is known as Doctor.

    John:

That's interesting. Send back a phony piece of paper, and get your money back, or keep the paper lose your money. I can't say I would have had a hard time with that one.

I just figured with the 60 minutes stories, and other news and articles some trial lawyers would go after some of these schools. I guess as stated above " Would they be able to get the money if they win?"
