    Hi,
I just found out I failed my Excelsior English Comp. course; I was awarded a "D". I wanted to know if anyone can advise me of a good, quick DL/online course that can fulfill my written english requirement.; English is my last requirement needed to have my degree conferred. I'm in the military & I have to return to Kuwait in few weeks... I have internet access...in my tent (lOl)

Try LSU's or Southwest Texas independent study programs which are both cheap and fast and have English Comp courses:

You might also try the University of South Carolina. Their Composition course is about $250, you can deliver your assignments via e-mail, and I believe your exams can be proctored by a higher ranking officer if that is a concern.

You will make sure that Excelsior accepts whichever other course you take to comply with your English composition requirement.

I'm still annoyed that they invalidated the Clep English composition exam as fulfilment for that requirement. I passed this one some years ago, whilst being enrolled in Regents and it was still valid but then, because of financial issues I had to stop being enrolled and now, once I re-enroll, the Clep won't be valid anymore to fulfill the requirement. Not very fair, but business is business I guess...

I'm just finishing at Excelsior myself, Vinny.

I used the ENG 301 Power Writing course offered by Charter Oak State College to satisfy the Excelsior Written English Requirement. My writing improved after taking the course, and the texts and assignments were very interesting.

Good luck, and thank you for serving us in the military!

    Regards,

    Tony
