Well I just can't study anymore today for the American Govt CLEP I have Saturday. Actually, I couldn't study ANY today. My eyeballs are falling out when I read anymore. I seem to be doing about 80 percent on the practice exams. My week points are all the judicial cases like Mapp vs Ohio etc. I can still brush up Thurs Fri and Sat early AM. I thought I might have just passed the Principles of Marketing CLEP but I ended up with a 68 so maybe I'm in good shape!

I remember it being a fairly easy exam. I studied the day before it by reading the chapter summaries from 2 political science texts and passed.

    mboston--

There seem to be two schools of thought regarding the American Government CLEP. One, like Lawrie Miller and Anthonym, finds the exam straighfaward if not easy; the other, like myself and a few others, found it to be rather inscrutable.

MY experiance was that the first half was easier than the Official Clep sample exam, the second half, by contrast, was rather trying with many ambiguities between the question and answers.

I even went so far as to challenge an interpretation question concerning presidential election results and sex and age breakdowns in the 50s and 60s. This involved a bar chart and an overlaid graph. After repeatedly trying to find an answer that ought to have been there, I maintained that there was no unambiguous answer; the College Board maintained the contrary!

Despite through preparation involving a major textbook and two study guides, I barely recieved a "B"--my only one through testing. I'm still undecided about attempting it again.

PLease DO report back your experience; it may help me to decide to take another crack since I do have deep experience and other relevant background reading that ought to have resulted in an easy "A."

PS I was getting 75% on the sample. too--so I was quite surprised to fall 15% (or more) when I took it.
    Good luck!

How did you do?? I took the test about 3 weeks ago and got a 61. I used a get to know your government type of book from the library to brush up. I found it to be a fairly simple test. I just hope I do as well on the biology. Justin

I got a 59. Funny, as soon as the score flashed on the screen and I realized I got higher than I needed, all the questions flew out my left ear. I think the first half did seem harder and there were several graphs but they had obviously false answers. There was only one of the judicial case questions - I had memorized about seven of them.
