    Gentleman,

I have some very good news. I have a private email from the Seminary Dean of ACCS and he states that ACCS is in "no danger of our losing accreditation. We are working on an appeal and have a representative of North Central working with us on an appeal to TRACS and working with us toward North Central Accreditation."

He goes on to say, "I also know Dr. Fitzgerald of TRACS and Dr. Hambrick were recently in conversation and we are submitting information to TRACS. There was an irregularity on TRACS part as well... The issue stems back to the previous administration's negligence. TRACS does not realize we are now far different. We are strong and viable and have grown to over 1600 students."

    Hope this helps!

I did not disclose everything. I only gave information that would be helpful to students. What is private is the total content of the email.

It might have been better to have summarized rather than quoting (especially the second paragraph). I also understand that the person aiding them is *not* a representative of North Central.

The good news if any at this point is that after contacting TRACS by phone and speaking with a representative I was able to determine that ACCS *will* have the opportunity to demonstrate compliance with deficient areas at the November meeting and that one possible outcome is re-affirmation.

ACCS seems to be working hard to correct the deficiencies. At this point I have to decide whether to gamble that all will come out well or pull out. I can gamble and keep working as I should be done in Dec. or Jan (one month after the vote).

    Decisions......Decisions......input is welcome.

Several posts in the ACCS/TRACS vein have mentioned that ACCS tells inquirers that their problems were from the previous administration. Am I the only one bothered by this? Doesn't this sound, at best, a bit tacky, and at worst, a lame excuse?

BTW, I'm an ACCS graduate and have been happy with the school for the most part, but this doesn't look good to me at all.

When I have spoken with someone there he has owned up to the fact that ACCS made some mistakes and seems to feel that regardless of the previous administration there is blame to share.
He also feels badly for the students who put there trust in ACCS. He has never tried to deceive in terms of minimizing the current situation but has said they are working hard to correct all of the areas and that is all they can promise. It was straight forward & honest.

    North,
I feel for you and the others presently in one of the ACCS programs. I would think with such a short time left, it would make sense to go for it, because no other doctoral program is going to let you transfer in all those credits and you'd be back at square one. Of course, as you say, it is a gamble.

Someone sent me an email asking who I am. I am a concerned ACCS student.
