Excelsior College seems recently to have dropped from its Web pages most mentions of its Credit Review Service ("an extensive pre-enrollment review of your college-level academic credentials that may be applicable toward requirements for an associate or bachelor's degree in Business, Liberal Arts, Nursing, or Technology. With Credit Review, you can learn before you enroll how many of the college-level credits you have already earned can be applied toward requirements in the Excelsior College degree program of your choice." -- from Google's cache of the now non-existent http://www.excelsior.edu/cred_rev.htm ).

What's featured on the Website now is the "Excelsior College Credit Tracker (TM)". But that, of course, is not an official assessment.

Does anyone know, or can anyone guess, why? When I phoned Excelsior, the lady said they still offer the Credit Review Service and she didn't know anything about the Web change.

Excelsior's Website still has a few mentions of "Credit Review", and the only mention of its having been dropped is for Nursing. But I just spoke with an Excelsior admissions officer, who confirmed that Excelsior discontinued Credit Review entirely, sometime in 2003. It has been replaced with the "unofficial evaluations".

Anyone updating Bears' Guide, please take note.

I guess I was lucky....I was able to get an "unofficial evaluation" from Excelsior College.....and it was that evaluation that assisted me in the decision in enrolling to the college.

I get their "newsletter" every quarter....and they are in the process of many "new" changes to many of exisiting programs....as well as implimenting new services.

Luckly, I am protected under thier "grandfather" clause.....so when I graduate in June, I won't be stuck between a rock and a hard place.

    :)
