Where can I call to register for DANTES exam? Is there any examination center in NY or NJ areas for DANTES's exams? Thanks in advance for any info.

You register directly with the institution where you would take the exam. You can see which institutions are closest to you at the following link. Good luck!

    Greetings.

Just a word of caution: I believe (but haven't verified) that the link that was previously proffered may be deceptive. The majority of the colleges in NYC that offer CLEP and/or DANTES exams, offer them to their matriculated students only. This includes "public" colleges, which you would think would be under some obligation to avail themselves to tax payers. Those colleges that do allow anyone to take exams (at a price), do so only at their convenience.

Back in 1999, when I last searched for a test center accessible by public transport, my best choice turned out to be a community college in NJ (even though I live in NY). As I *dimly* recall, it was a short distance from the PATH (commuter) train station in Jersey City/Journal Sq. Unfortunately I don't recall its name.

When I took my last test, they were starting to introduce more (to me) restrictive testing hours, but they were still mailable. Good luck!

The link steeler posted is your best option for finding a location. Each college has its rules, however, all you need to do is call the contact person listed in the directory to learn the specific information for that institution. In my area I had to call a few of the colleges and testing centers before I found one best option.
