Keeping in mind and perspective that according to many on this forum have stated that CCU is applying(?) for DETC accreditation and that Scups seems to be co-owned by NCU or vice-versa, what seems to be in store for accreditation for Scups? It seems like they upped their requirements and of course the price. Anybody taking or taken courses from them? By virtue of the above it seems they are waiting to see what is in store for CCU . Any comments are welcomed. I have taken Psy(M.A) courses in retirement from them. They seem to be okay. DMD
I have looked at their curriculum and believe that they are okay. Here is a graduate of scups that has done very well. Although I doubt I would enroll, I have to believe (from this link, and other people who have gained a job in academia), that this school has some degree of credibility, even outside of California. Tony ...and please, no 'outing' of those you believe are not suited (for whatever reason)...
Not that I'm at all interested in doing it in this, or any other, case, but it is not "outing" someone when they've advertised their degree(s) on the internet. This isn't like going through someone's garbage or sifting through the outgoing mail at some mill. This person is already advertising the degree, putting it "out there."
Well this will be a good time to ask question , since I ask if could teach there, basically they turn me down since I did not have any experince teaching, so I would be a motivation for me to see where this will take> Vini
When I graduate from PWU I'll have a CA Approved MSc, perhaps I'll apply. I can see it now RA campuses staffed w/holders of advanced degrees from PWU, SCUPS, CCU, CPU, Central State, Newport - all CA Approved Schools.
Well I had to ask reference this instructor, and here is the answer I got: ----- Original Message ----- From: HAINESL To: Vinipink Cc: James_Ext ; MCKAYR Sent: Thursday, May 15, 2003 11:08 AM Subject: RE: Faculty with unaccredited degree Mr. Pink, We are aware of Mr. Jeppesen’s credentials. Mr. Jeppesen teaches only at the undergraduate level. He has done so successfully for many years and was hired before our credential template process was established. Mr. Jeppesen’s undergraduate degree is from an accredited institution. Our accrediting body allows a small percentage of our instructors to be qualified to teach with undergraduate level training. You will not encounter any of these instructors in the Online program. All these instructors are qualified at the master’s or doctorate level with degrees from accredited institutions. Thank you for your inquiry, Linda L. Haines, Ph.D. Dean of the Extended University Any feedback? Vini
