Well, I just checked my accumulated loan total and it is over 30k. I will be pursuing my Masters next Fall or Spring, possibly another Bachelors down the road, and eventually my Doctorates. This will probably put me well over the 100k total for school loans before it is over. Also, my wife is attending a Pharm D program that will add on another 100k for school loans. So, I’m looking at paying back 200k + down the road in school loans. Is this a common scenario for the average life-long learner? Kind of depressing…………….

That is a small furtune, here I am complaining that will have a commulative $20k for my MBA that I just finish, which will be paying maybe in 10 years after I am done with my Doctorate which will be self finance.

Thanks God that I was able to get a scholarship for my BBA if not I would be around 30k to 40k. Kudos to those that are lucky enough to have an employer pick their cost for tuition. Tumbs down for those that do not take advantage of tuiton reimbursement from their employer.

Just a question, when you say doctorates, how many we are talking about?

Unfortunately, my employer does not have a very generous TA program that I can take advantage of. I get about 2k a year which helps but not nearly enough.

Mine Employer they took if off for almost two years, in the begining when I was looking for MBA, I was going to study at Florida International U or Florida Atlantic U, but since they rule out TA, I have to somenthing else. Now they have put it back, I don't need it anymore(Unless I go back for a second master which FAU told me they take me). They Pick up cost for public schools only. I was considering taking classes in Public University but FIU and FAU requires that Doctorates student be fulltime, which I can afford. So I decided to self finance, and take a program that meets my needs. I am still evaluating. Hey 2k for year is something. I wish I could have that.

Sounds like you may have a career as a politican ahead of you. Buy now, worry about how to pay later......Didn't your parents ever read you that story about the ant and the grasshopper when you were a kid?

Well, just to warn you, you can only have a cumulative of $46,000 in sub and unsub loans for your undergraduate career. So be careful when you go back to do more undergrad.

For graduate you can go all the way up to $165,000.

    Pretty scary!

Thanks for the info! Funny how it seems guys in prison get more educational grants than we do.
