Bill would allow graduates of non-ABA schools to take Texas Bar exam

    This is unfortunate... It would have been nice if it would have passed.

    Actually, graduates of non ABA schools have always been able to take the Texas Bar if they have been admitted to the Bar of a sister state and practiced there for a few years.

    Fairly recently, though, the Texas Bar Examiners added a restriction disallowing correspondence JD holders to sit regardless of their being admitted in another state.

    I don't know of any other state that specifically disallows correspondence JDs.
