Hello, I didn't get the cost but this e-mail came my way. This is an 8 week on-line course. It looks interesting. Hille
This one beats them all!, and we were thinking that the MBA at AUI was fast paced!!. So I guess you will be able to use the letters "MMBA" after your name once finished the course.
I couldn't find anything on the (real) Tulane web site either. However, I happened to come across the following site during a search: http://www.tulane-university.com/
Limited information Here is the phone number listed in the add - 1-800-983-6491...for additional information e-mail [email protected] .....I have nothing to do with this school or program. Hille
The mini-MBA is one of the programs being offered by the University Alliance. www.universityalliance.com Cy
"ONLINE MBA CERTIFICATE PROGRAM Open Enrollment - No Prerequisites Required This 8-week, online “Mini-MBA” is a first-of-its-kind offered exclusively through Tulane University’s world-renowned Freeman School of Business - for professionals of all education levels!" I don't think I would like this if I were an MBA student at the Freeman School of Business. I wonder: Does Tulane award graduate credit for this program? Would it be correct to say this program is accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Which RA university will be first to market an "ONLINE PHD CERTIFICATE" or "Mini-Ph.D."?

I need to point out that our first class is July 1st, and the discount on the tuition will expire once we close enrollment for that class. If you know of anyone who will benefit from this certificate, and if they want to take advantage of the $700 off the original tuition rate, they need to enroll immediately, ok? Thank you so much for your concern for others, and if you change your mind about doing this yourself, please contact me again. Have a good day Mr. Fout! I am not interested in the MBA Certificate program my self, as I explained to the online representative. The MBA Certificate program was briefly discussed on www.degreeinfo.com, a distance learning discussion board. The information you provided has answered all of my questions. Additionally, if I may have your permission, I will post the information contained in your email at www.degreeinfo.com. Sincerely, Charles W. Please review the following and let me know if you have additional questions. 1) The MBA Certificate program is 8 weeks in length, from July 1 - August 25, 2003. There are four focus areas, Business Statistics, Accounting, Finance and Marketing - each section has a lecture, followed by an exercise, followed by an exam. Once all four exams are submitted (with a 70% or better), you have successfully completed the program. 2) The MBA Certificate is a professional development program designed to immediately impact the credentials/skill set of the working professional whom may not have the time or ability to attack a full blown MBA at this point, but needs the credential to validate to-date work experience and further succeed in the business environment today. Some students may go on to earn an MBA in the future, at which time, this program will have been a nice bridge. In the meantime, students will have learned the four core fundamental skills of an MBA in a condensed online program from a prestigious university like Tulane. 3) The MBA Certificate is not an full MBA degree. 4) This MBA Certificate does not yield any college credits so none will be transferred into a formal degree program of any kind. You will receive a framed MBA Certificate upon completion of the program, not to mention the core fundamental skills of an MBA which you may put to use immediately! 5) This program has been very well received world-wide. Enrollments are global and students are anxious to earn this first ever MBA Certificate, regardless where they are from. I think it's particularly inviting to our international students since Tulane University's Freeman School of Business is ranked 28th internationally! 6) This program is designed to enhance the credentials of the working professional. As a professional development program, there are no prerequisites for enrollment. 7) Tulane University is in the process of developing additional courses for the working professional. To stay abreast of such programs, please visit us at www.tulaneu.com. For additional studies online, go to www.universityalliance.com. 8) The introductory rate for the July 1 program is $1980 +s/h. The standard rate of tuition is $2680 +s/h. My recommendation is to register today to ensure your seat in this high in demand course and guarantee yourself the $700 reduced rate! Please let me know your intentions with regards to enrollment into my July 1 program. I would love to reserve a seat for you in this class while space is still available! I look forward to hearing from you soon. The title of the certificate seems a little misleading. "Graduate Certificate in Business Administration" would seem more reasonable.
Any hope for a DBA or PhD certificate? . So, this means that one can list this MBA as MBA Cert. Tulane University Is this legal? wouldn't be considered as deceptive for a prospect employer?
> This MBA Certificate does not yield any college credits so > none will be transferred into a formal degree program of any > kind. The courses are "Accounting", "Financial Management", "Marketing Management", and "Business Statistics". They are described at http://www.tulaneu.com/Content/Curriculum.html . Is it possible that taking these courses would help someone pass the DANTES business exams, thus yielding college credits? Or are they too mickey-mouse? (I know nothing whatever about business, so this is a genuine question.)
PlumbDog10 wrote: > The title of the certificate seems a little misleading. > "Graduate Certificate in Business Administration" would seem > more reasonable. Why "graduate" certificate, given that there are no prerequisites at all?
If it's graduate level work, I wouldn't have a problem with that title, with or without prerequisites. But what do I know, I'm still working on a B.S.
You might want to note that a lot of schools actually have two levels of "graduate" (I seem to be using a lot of quotes today) level work. UCLA and Berekely are two good examples. they have several graduate level certificate programs, but they will not accept the work for credit against a"real" (did it agian) degree. Berekely has an interesting certificate program in construction management, using some of the same classes (but through their extension program) as their regualr graduate CM program. If you take the courses through the continuing education program, even if you are enrolled in the regular program, it can not be used fro graduate credit (note you are in the same class with either option). Talk about a double standard. In my program research I was looking at this program so i asked, and that is what they told me last year. So: be carful, it may not be usable for actual credit at the school that offers it.
