I only know of less-than-wonderful institutions that are virtual-only. I was wondering if anybody knows of any RA or GAAP (or SA) universities that are solely virtual, without any physical campus or classrooms at all, and tutors located anywhere in the world? adelheid
Touro International University Jones International University Union Institute and University Fielding Graduate Institute Capella University Walden University Excelsior College Thomas Edison State College Charter Oak State College Any number of DETC-accredited schools I'm sure there are many others that meet (or approach) that definition.
thank you , Rich: I have to admit that I was absolutely not aware that these were virtual-only universities! adelheid
How about other, i.e. non-US, countries, or is this something that can, at this point, only be found in the US? adelheid
Western Governors University Saybrook used to offer classroom instruction I believe, but it seems to be all DL now, except for a handful of short meetings. Interesingly, Saybrook is accredited by WASC, which historically has been resistant to DL-only schools. Quite a few CA-approved schools are DL only, including the usual suspects like CCU and SCUPS.
Touro University ... International ... TUI ... not TIU ... Touro University also has a B & M campus at Mare's Island for their Health Science programs. Then there's Touro College on the east coast that is B & M too. Billy
My understanding is that UNISA has a large number of B&M facilities including Learning Centers, libraries, etc. These are located in various cities throughout South Africa. Check it out: http://www.unisa.ac.za/Default.asp?Cmd=ViewContent&ContentID=82 Jack
Unisa has support centers and an impressive administrative campus, but all degrees (since 1946) are through distance learning.
