Besides DETC accreditation, Griggs University states that it is accredited by the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges and Universities.

If you're an Adventist, that sort of accreditation might be important to you to ensure that you're kids are trained under certain doctrinal positions. ;)

Most religious bodies with extensive parochial schools have some sort of in-house QC agency.

I agree, Unk. My own denomination has a Division of Education which provides QC. I thought the choice of terminology was interesting for the SDA agency----Accrediting Association.

Griggs is a good school, but I don't believe that they are RA. I have no idea why not, because Columbia Union College is accredited and they use the exact same DL materials from Home Study International.

The Seventh-Day Adventist church maintains a very large and international system of K-12 academies. In addition to regular state teaching credential requirements, Adventist academies require some additional coursework for their teacher certification. Adventist certification would be useful if you plan on teaching in the Adventist education system.
