Hi, I took the general exam, English Composition without essay, understanding that the college I had chosen made no distinction between the two versions. Now, I am considering grabbing an associate degree from TESC along the way to avoid some general education requirements I would rather do without.

My problem is that TESC only grants credit for the version with the essay (at least that is how I understand it.)

Has anyone dealt with this issue before? Or, will I need to pay another $65 and spend another couple hours to gain duplicative credit?

I have heard the w/essay exam is easier, so I am confident I can pass it, but it seems like a huge waste of time if there is another way.

    Thanks in advance,
    Tony

I took them all: CLEP with Essay and CLEP without Essay and ECE English Composition. I even backed these up with two English courses from a brick-and-mortar school.

Why? Because I am fucking tired of dealing with all the various English requirements wherever I go. This one subject has caused me more grief than any other subject that comes to mind, and now I give whoever whatever they require and be done with.

University of Phoenix accepted the CLEP without essay but COSC would not accept the CLEP without essay.
I did retake it because that is what I needed to do; it was just that simple.
