    I have a question:

Say if you graduate from a MBA program that happens to be regionally accredited but not accredited by the AACSB, but pass the CMBA examination (Certified MBA exam). Will these credentials from a Non-AACSB graduate would equal to a MBA graduate of an AACSB program? I know there are threads on this but I'm just making sure on how these credentials are viewed.

I don't believe there is any reason to think that the CMBA examination (has it even been implemented?) will have any significance academically. And considering that it, in some ways, subverts the accreditation process by replacing it with an outcomes assessment, I hardly think AACSB-accredited programs are going to be interested in accepting the CMBA test as a suitable substitute.

My understanding is that AACSB programs give higher weight to other AACSB programs. So it may be accepted, yet you will be down in the numbers after the AACSB candidates. That's if you were to apply to an AACSB program in the future. I don't think employers would care about either, but either is nice to put on the resume if you need it.

I think your question is will passing the CMBA be equal to a AACSB graduation. I don't think so, and I will tell you why.

The first AACSB distance degrees are coming out (over the past 5 years) and to some they are not considered equal to the B&M school's, so I thik it will depend on what you want to use this for.

If you are looking to get into a doctoral program, it will depend, if you are looking for a professorship, I don't think it will fly, if you are looking for a strong resume, I think it will be fine.
