Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum but a long time lurker of distance education websites. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Bellevue University via Distance Learning. I am now getting my MBA through Upper Iowa University also through Distance Learning. Both are RA. I really loved Bellevue, but am not as quite as excited about UIU, though it's not bad.

I just wanted to say hi and share my experiences.

    Welcome to the forum.

What distinguishes your experience between Bellevue and UIU?

    UIU

OBECVE: Bellevue was set up a lot nicer as far as their online courses. UIU uses a very confusing and cumbersome NEWSGROUP format through Outlook Express.

9Chris: Well, the staff there is nice at UIU. The tests and assignments are ok. What I really hate is a BIG emphasis on group work. Group work, for every class, in a NEWSGROUP only interface, via distance learning is a pain in the butt. Also, some teachers are really easy and some are ridiculously difficult. I think they should have more parity with their standards. I'm just DYING to finish and get out of there. Though, it hasn't been a horrible experience.

I agree with you in reference groups format, Personally I don't like this setting. On the other side, I found the OE to be quite easy. Some of the downsize I found was the change MLA to APA it was caos, since some professor were asking for it in some assigments, and the University did not have implemented yet. I would say overall was rewarding. What really draws me back all the enless hours I have to spent in from my monitor for the extremely fast pace they set the classes. It was not easy, I have attended several universities and found the ground programs to be more relax. Just remember this is my experience.
