    Hello,

I know that for the most part members of this board have concluded that a second bachelors degree doesn't have much use in either academia nor employment.

However, although a second bachelors may not bring about a promotion or a raise, is it possible for it to open doors to better job opportunities elsewhere, ie. when applying for a job having a second bachelors give you an additional advantage over other applicants, all else held constant?

Actually holding a second bachelor degree isn't a bad thing. It clearly indicated that the holder of the degree has studied beyond the 120 credit hours required for one degree. It also shows the prospective employer that the candidate has a diverse background (more than one discipline). This is welcomed by many employers today.

This is also advantageous for graduate school applicants. Someone with two undergraduate degrees will probably have a better chance getting into the graduate school of their choice.

Now on the flip side, someone with a Masters degree (especially in Business) may be more valuable to an employer than somebody with multiple undergraduate degrees.

I think there's quite a few people who earned a BA in, say, business, for career's sake; but who might want to do graduate work in, say, history, for personal reasons. In that case it would make sense. I don't think it would make sense if the majors are in any way related.
