I was thinking of Drexel's MBA program too, I'd like to know some information about it as well. A college professor of mine recommended.

I was accepted to AIU's MBA program today but this same professor advised against it because of its reputation. So, I'm trying to figure out which is the best option.

I'm surprised to hear that AIU has a reputation, good or bad. My guess would have been that few people had ever heard of it.

Clearly, in terms of prestige, Drexel is likely a good choice. I have no idea of the quality of the program and I don't recall anyone around here ever having been a student in that program. What is the approximate total cost of the program?

Looking back on it now, my wording was probably incorrect. :) I probably meant that my professor advised against it because it seemed like it didn't have much of a reputation just as you indicated. It is true that many people haven't heard of it when I tell them that I have applied. I have to always indicate to them that it is a regionally accredited university in order to make it sound less cheesy.

    Re: Drexel online mba

Looks like less than half of Duke's but still pricey -- $43K in Fall 2003. A bargain right now at $39.5K. Whew!:(

I have it a tad bit easier with AIU; they have a campus in Atlanta so most of the people I have talked to locally have at least heard of it. They’re known mostly for fashion design in this area though.

Sorry, to be late posting to this thread but I just noticed the Drexel question.

I completed my Online MBA through Drexel last year and thought it was a good program (I was in the second cohort of the program). One of the main reasons I selected the program was because of the three required residencies, it was a chance meet some of my fellow students and professors in person.

Concerning the cost of the program, it is a private university and the tuition reflects it. The cost of the program has increased in the last couple of years partly because they have had a lot of demand for the program and have increased the tuition without impacting the demand. Additionally, Drexel covers all of the cost of the residencies (other than air fare) in the price of the tuition.

    Hope this helps.
