My friend Alexei asked non NACES member credential evaluation agency if they will join NACES. Here is the reply: ABSOLUTELY AND DEFINITELY NO. We do not want to be NACES which is a private organization of 12 companies in the whole United States that did not accepted since 3 years any new member. The American Council of Education (ACE) where our srevice is a member regroups all the accredited universities and control the National Council on Education. What you say about government requiring NACES is absolutely untrue every day we do evaluation for several branches of the US government (INS, Health and Human Services etc.) ) and State ( Florida, California etc.) They can and would not legally require NACES., If you know any branch of the Government which impose NACES membership Please tell us and we will immediately put a legal action against this illegal measure. Dr. ________ Chairman Harvard SICA American Council on Education (ACE), National Association of Scholars , AACRAO, NAFSA Founding Faculty at Yorktown University -------------------------------------------------- Dear Sir Thank you for the reply. Here are a few examples were only NACES evaluations are accepted: Example # 1 8. I am from a foreign country, what requirements must I meet to sit for the CPA Exam in Kansas: An individual with a foreign degree must have their foreign degree evaluated to substantiate that the foreign degree is equivalent to a baccalaureate degree from a U.S. institution and must satisfy the 150-semester credit hour requirement. Any organization listed as a member of NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) is approved by the Board. The evaluation must be a specific course-by-course comparison to Kansas requirements, not a general evaluation. Example # 2 Applicants who do not have a baccalaureate degree from an institution in the United States, Puerto Rico or Canada must register with an international credentials evaluation service that is a member of the National Association of Credentials Evaluation Services (NACES/www.naces.org) to establish degree equivalency and provide a course listing with grades. Along with the LSAT score from LSDAS, this evaluation must be received by the file completion deadline (see #6 Example # 3 Office of Admissions Kansas State University 119 Anderson Hall Manhattan, KS 665060102 Application for International Undergraduate Admission Academic documentation required We strongly encourage you to submit an academic evaluation report from a credential service. Applications can be processed more quickly when you provide a credential evaluation. The service used must be a member of NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services). A list of current NACES members is available at www.naces.org/members.html. Reply - Thanks we are contacting immediately those university and Institution to change their policy.
