Anyone know if this is possible? I'm 90% decided on pursuing the BOT BA from Eastern Illinois, but I can't help but be intrigued by Excelsior's and TESC's BBA/BS offerings in MIS/CIS or Accounting or Human Resource Management.

I'm aware of the 2 bachelor's degrees rule that Excelsior has...Does anyone know if it is possible to earn 2 business degrees from them or TESC as long as all requirements are completed before conferral of both degrees?

    TESC catalog

See page 18 of the catalog " students may not earn a second BA in the same subject as the first" "30 additional credits for the second BA". Hille

I completed two majors (Psychology and Computer Science) for my BA from TESC, and they were actually transcribed as two degrees. I don't know if it would be transcribed this way for two majors in the BSBA (and can't even guarantee it would be the same for someone else who earned a BA with two majors), but I'm guessing that it probably would. Regardless, they do explicitly allow you to complete two majors for the same degree, and the BSBA majors are only 18 credits, so it might not be real tough to do this, especially since you can use 9 credits from one major towards a second major, if the requirements overlap. If you want two majors that are part of different degrees, such as a BA or a BSHS combined with a BSBA, then I think that you would need to entirely complete one degree first and then earn 30 new credits toward the second degree after the first one is officially conferred (see page 20 in the most current catalog), so this isn't quite as easy.

I did in my B.A. in Liberal Arts at Regents (now Excelsior) with a double concentration in psychology and literature. The concentrations have recently been changed to majors, so double majors should now be possible. Check the catalog to be sure, though.

The dual-degree restriction is real, but only applies to separate degrees from a given department--not double majors. So you couldn't do (for example) a B.A. in psychology and then a B.A. in literature, but you could do a single B.A. in psychology and literature.

    Good luck!

    Cheers,

Thanks, everyone. I'll investigate further and report my results. It seems like Excelsior may offer a great opportunity for a motivated student to earn a nice dual credential.

As far as I'm concerned, a double major degree is just as good as two separate degrees. I suspect many if not most will think the same.
