What are your suggestions for the fastest and most reasonable accredited college to obtain a bachelors degree in criminal justice?
I could do without the composition, american history, algebra, and literature. I have been researching several possibilities, but the more research I do, the more confused I get.
My main objective is to obtain a state license, (which requires a Bachelors in Criminal Justice) and eventually become a Private Investigator.
    Any Suggestions?

Thanks a lot. I'll check them out. I'm new to the whole college scene, so it's all a bit overwhelming and confusing to me.

  4. The problem being, of course, that most U.S. institutions will require most (or all) of those subjects as part of the bachelor's degree "General Education" core. If your objection is to taking the courses per se, then no problem-- no problem, as long as you can come up with an alternative way for credit in those areas (CLEP et al.)

As a side note, if you have trouble in basic composition-- i.e., have trouble passing the CLEP-- then perhaps the best thing for your future as ANY kind of investigator is to invest in lots of writing-intensive classes.

I thought that may be the case. I think when I typed that, it sounded better in my head than it turned out in type. What I meant was, I would prefer not to spend the time and money learning things that I'm not interested in, and would rather spend the same amount of time and money focusing on the different levels of Criminal Justice. But, you gotta do what you gotta do.
I learned today that the CLEP and Prior Learning Assessments may be available to me to earn credits toward the degree.
I am a 1988 HS grad, and the thought of getting a degree never crossed my mind until recently. I am suprised at how confusing the whole experience is. I do appreciate all of the info.
