Hello to all. I am curious if anyone has attempted to submit a Portfoilo Assement for Credit in mathematics @ TESC? If so, what appraoch did you take? The process and work involved (according to what they wanted), was it difficult? Any problems for this particular assement? Was the end result what you had anticipated? Is there any suggestions or advise in taking the route for credit in this area (mathematics). Thank you. Jay
You may already be aware of this, but the first step is to search TESC's Portfolio Assessment Credit Description Database at http://www.tesc.edu/portfolio/ . (Thanks to Hille for telling me about this.) Searching for "mathematics" returns 28 portfolios, and I'm sure searching for particular topics within mathematics would retrieve many more.
I guess I'm a little lost here. What does this page tell you? How do you use the info? There doesn't seem to be anything to click on. It just looks like the catalog descriptions.
Yes, the search just returns catalogue descriptions. But that's exactly what you need for Step 3 of the process described at: http://www.tesc.edu/prospective/undergraduate/credit/portfolio.php It's an important catalogue, because every course in that catalogue has (I presume) been successfully challenged through portfolio by some student already.
Maybe my initial question was misinterpetated, I was looking for individuals who have attempted this process in this particular area. I was wanting personal feedback on their experience and recommendations for the process. I am aware of the general aspects of the portfoilo assements, just looking for personal experiences and feedback for conversation. Thanks Jay
