Except for Excelsior College....where can I find an MA Program in Liberal Studies or Education that accepts alot of transfer credits?

I have a BA,JD, and 30 Grad ED and 9 Grad Bus Admin credits.
    Thank you

  2. I think thai in California all Universities are limited to 6 units in transfere.

We learned this the hard waa, when my wife wanted to transfere her teacher credential units from Cal State Long Beach to National University.

Im many catalogs of deferent RA schools I read about this limit of 6 units only.

For BA or BS it mach higher, like 90 out of 120.

I am interested to know if you find a RA Masters program that accepts more thank 6 to 8 units for 30 - 36 unit degree.

I graduated from Golden Gate University with an M.P.A. in 1989. Due to a bunch of previous graduate units (36 semester hours) I only had to complete 18 semester hours in residence. I don't remember the exact number of credits that were actually accepted in transfer, but it was at least 15, and maybe as high as 21. (My USAF Squadron Officer's School even counted for an undergraduate prerequisite in Management.)

Golden Gate University currently offers several degree programs at various military bases throughout the US and world, and even offers a DL Executive M.P.A. I was unable to locate the current transfer policy on their website with a quick search... however, here's the E.M.P.A. website...

    best of luck,

  6. Sorry,

I was very tired and sleepy when I replied.

When I read it now I ask what?

Please ignore the reply - no vodka involved just very long exhaustive work day and disciplining two kids :)

    Thanks

USQ in Australia accepts up to 50% credit transfer. A typical master's has 12 units (1 unit per course), so you can get up to 6 units.

Fort Hays State University in Kansas offers the Master of Liberal Studies with many concentrations. They will accept, IIRC, up to 9 hours in transfer, which is about as good as it gets at a US RA school.

You can find a few schools that will accept more, but it seems that they usually want you to complete at least 21 or 24 semester hours through their school. For example, Colorado State will accept up to 15 SH in transfer (out of 39 required) for their MS in CS program. There are even a few exceptions to this, though, such as the University of Hawaii MS in ICS program, which will accept 12 SH in transfer (out of 30 required). Then again, getting a school to accept the stated maximum allowed transferred credits can be another matter, and if the credits were taken very long ago then they you'll have a hard time finding any school that will accept them. I realize that those particular programs aren't really helpful to the original poster, I just was just using them as examples.

    Now for a much-more-dumber question...

    What does IIRC stand for??

IIRC it stands for "If I Remember Correctly."
