Doe anyone know of any good home study ground school courses that can be used to take the FAA written test? Thanks in advance!

I do not believe that you have to attend class to take the written examination. Gleim Publishing has a good site which showcases their test preparation products and walks you through what you need to do to receive a pilot's certificate... http://www.gleim.com/aviation/ Good luck, John
I just took a look at the FAA FAQ at: http://www2.faa.gov/AVR/afs/pilotfaq.htm#d It seems that if you try doing this by purchasing the Gleim materials alone, you will need to visit the FAA District Flight Office in your area to get approval to take the examination once they review your materials. Prior to buying anything, you may want to call the office to see if the Gleim materials will qualify you to receive the "FAA Form 8060-7 Airmans Authorization for Written Test." Once you receive this you can take the exam. There seem to be a number of online schools listed on the Internet. I know nothing about them. John
