I thought I would ask my fellow learners your thoughts on the preferences and/or benefits between Touro Univ. Intl. and Charles Sturt Univ. The reason I ask is as a current Ph.D. learner at TUI, I was able to see on another thread the economical advantage of the CSU DBA than what I currently starting to owe at Touro for a Ph.D. degree. Almost a $20,000 difference after all is done. But I wonder the acceptance of my completed Ph.D. or DBA in the academic arena in comparison from the institution. Almost the same curriculum also. Degree acceptance is my formost concern since I am working on a terminal degree to use and continue teaching in the college arena. What are your thoughts on the issues?

I'm currently enrolled in the DBA at USQ that is another australian university. I teach Information Systems in Canada for several universities and colleges and although I haven't finished the DBA yet, it has helped me to get more responsibilities as a supervisor for master's thesis and graduate level teaching assignments. Everytime I get a job interview few people ask me about the origin of my DBA and the only question that I get is when I will be finish with it. In my case, it wouldn't make too much of a difference an unknown university like USQ or TUI, in the case of my college teaching my credits earned at USQ were considered for a pay raise.
In conclusion, it depends what do you want to do with it, if you are already a faculty member and you require a doctorate for a pay raise or secure a F/T position then either will do the job. However, some people believe that some employers are bias against foreign degrees but since I'm a canadian resident both options are foreign to me so in my case the australian degrees make more sense financially speaking. In the case of american residents, it can be a factor that can make you decide to go for TUI.

My only problem with the PhD of TUI or the DBA of CSU is that both are general degrees. Few universites look for general management professors while fields like accounting, marketing and information systems are in high demand. I would look for a specialized DBA or PhD in a high demand area.
