Here's a statement I took from Concordia College & University's web site. Since when did Richard Hoyer acknowledge CC&U as a legitimate DL institution? Once again we have accreditation from the Government of Liberia (who's the guy on their first page---the doorman at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC?) Any comments on this site?

    Here's a statement I took from Concordia College & University's web site:

Accreditation, U.S. Department of Education, References & Privacy:

Concordia College & University's programs and degrees are recognized and accredited by the Government of Liberia's DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION through the NBOE - National Board of Education of Monrovia, Liberia. The academic recognition of a UNESCO member country's national Department or Ministry of Education is commonly considered the equivalent of the highest U.S. National and Regional Accreditation standard.
Concordia College & University is accredited by the Distance Graduation Accrediting Association (DGAA) since June 2000. DGAA is a specialized international accreditation association founded to establish and promote global standards in the professional acceptance of experience-based college and university degrees worldwide.

The American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education AACTE includes the Distance Graduation Accrediting Association, Concordia College's accreditor, in its 2002 annual meeting report as one of the earliest established distance education accrediting bodies (view report, seventh paragraph). AACTE itself is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Concordia College's DGAA accreditation however is not designed to meet the needs of students intending to use U.S. Federal Funds.

Concordia C&U has also been granted full accreditation by the U.S.Professional Board of Education on 22 December 2001.

Concordia College & University is an active member of the UNITED NATIONS ASSOCIATION. Our U.N. Association membership allows Concordia College & University graduates to be considered for a variety of part-time and full-time internships awarded by the U.N. Association to highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students.

Concordia C&U is associated with the Tennessee E-Real Estate School, fully accredited by the State of Tennessee Real Estate Commission.

Concordia College & University bears full institutional recognition from the National Board of Professional and Ethical Standards.

Concordia College & University maintains a favorable ranking in 'A College Degree in your Spare Time' by the internationally acclaimed distance education expert/author Dr. Richard Hoyer.

That name Dr. Hoyer seems to keep popping up in relation to schools that most of the people here would choose not to attend.

Hey, it's accredited by the Tennesee Real Estate Commission. Can Harvard say that?

Do a search on Hoyer and draw your own conclusions.

Are you implying that the Tennesee Real Estate Commission isn't doing their job?

It seems to me that they've lowered their standards by giving CC&U their "seal" of appoval.

The gentleman on the first web page is not wearing a Liberian AFL uniform, nor is the flag behind his head a Liberian flag.

An accredited degree with graded transcript within 12 hours. Think of the years I've wasted.

Concordia - has a Lutheran ring to it. Maybe I could impress the Unk.

That people actually get these degrees and engage in justifcation for their purchase is sad and unfortunate. Also laughable.

What country is the next to offer accreditation. Hmmmm....the cash strapped country of Bungawanga. Official accreditation to be offered to mills. All diplomas will bear the Royal seal. As Bungawanga's official export is pigeon poop used in fertilizer (bountiful of the island) , the seal consists of a suitable replica of pigeon feces. Bungawanga hopes to soon have recognition from the UN as a sovereign nation and this will allow mills for a small fee to declare that their diploma's have official recognition from a department of Education of a sovereign nation. Surely, the degrees must be recognized by the entire world as they bear the Royal Bungawangan seal. No matter that Bunawanga does not have an education system, it is nonetheless a sovereign nation and as accreditation is a voluntary & uniquely american concept in a world where most national govt's assume this role, we can be assured that the Royal Bungawangan seal will guarentee superior acceptance. It will also add new meaning to the BS, MS, and the PhD (Piled Higher & Deeper).
