Have the Standard Deviants DVDs been discussed as a means of preparing for CLEP or other exams? Anyone have any experience with them?

Did a search and don't see that this has been discussed.

I do not know if they have been discussed, but I find them very hard to watch. They remind me of a cross between Barney and bad Saturday Night Live sketches.

One of my former students suggested the series to me as tutorial matter to prepare Statistics and Calculus students. I watched a couple and the academic content was good, but I found them unbearable to watch. I do not mean to sound pompous, but they actually irritated me.

They may work for some, this is just my opinion.

The Standard Deviants can also be seen on PBSYOU if you have satelite TV. Some of their programs are OK (math and english) for example and others are irritating (foreign language).

    Thanks for the replies.

I saw these advertised by some vendor as being good review for the CLEP exams so I wondered if anyone had attempted using them as such and, if so, what had been their experience.

Is it true that in some circles DLers are considered substandard deviants?
