I was reading a little bit about TESC and the portfolio option on the google groups. I was wandering what is the best way to get access to college catalogs the fastest and easiest.

I know going to the local library would be a good way but ours is very small. I have been going to some college websites and looking and having them mail me one.

I guess the lazy part of me was wondering if there was something online that had all this already?

  2. Many colleges have their catalogs on-line. For at least one of my portfolio submissions to TESC, the course description from a school's online catalog (with appropriate reference to the link) was accepted. I didn't need a "physical" copy of the catalog.

As far as locating "good" course descriptions-- good online research skills will carry the day. If you really want the Lazy Man's Option, search the database of Portfolio Assessment course descriptions that TESC has online.

  3. And if you still want the old fashioned way . . .

. . . check out the guidance counselor's office at your local high school - they usually have a good selection of college catalogues.

Hi, The local high school will probably not welcome you unless you know someone in the office or have a child going there. There are security concerns."""" Although extremely limited, and having a time lapse I would post your questions about specific courses on the current student area of the TESC website. Hille
