I am a student at Baker College pursuing a degree totally on-line.

As an assignment in one of my classes, I am doing a reserach paper on distance learning.

I would like to get feedback on the acceptance of on-line degrees in the business community?

Has anyone experienced negative reaction to the value of your degree because you earned it on-line?

When discussing your education creditials, do you mention it was completed on-line?

    Any other feedback?

    Thanks,

    Jules

I do not put that I am getting my MBA online, though it is fully accredited. I think there is a disadvantage due to the ignorance of some employers, so why tell them more than they need to know. During an interview one could explain, but it does not show up on my resume (or vita).

I am the first at my work to get an online degree, and when i started in 2001 they had in there policy "No online courses accepted". I asked for clarification, since there are fully accredited schools online, and had to take it up to the VP of HR to get it changed, and they are reimbursing my tuition, but very reluntantly.

At the CSU school I went to they had a similar policy, until I went to the Dean of Business, then had to escalate to the Dean of the school. They did not offer one core class in the evening, and both National Univ. and UOP offered it, so I petitioned to take it - the Dean said I should quit work, or move my schedule for it (only offered 10-11 and 1-2, when most tenured professors hold classes). Again, I fought it and won, but it was a difficult road.
