Rhodes University

Does anyone know anything about Rhodes University in South Africa? Is this part of the UNISA system, a separate institution, or what?

 

Is this a genuine university ? I have no idea.

This university had sent me its prospective a few months ago and I don't know where did they get my information. I never made any enquiry.

Any advice from expert??

I do not know anything about Rhodes University. However, it is not to be confused with Rhodes College, Memphis, TN, a top-tier, elite private liberal arts college with a 100+ year heritage.

Sure, Rhodes University in SA is legitimate in every way. Many SAns I have talked to consider it one of their better universities. Their website is very good. Root around and come back with detailed questions. Many of us have more or less experience with South African schools and will share info as best we can.

I think I might have reversed the polarity on the Rhodes-Memphis and Rhodes-Grahamstown differentiation!

An initial warning--do not be surprised if e-mail gets no response. SAns are erratic about that. Telephone and fax often get more detailed, helpful, and timely answers.
