    Does anyone have any current information about Berne University? (Aside from what is available on its webpage.) Did Berne hold its residency in St. Kitts this past summer? Does anyone have any first-hand knowledge of Berne, or know any experiences by people who have attended?
    Thanks!

    I john;

    I have a friend who is 76 years old but looks 50 that is attending
    berne. she has told me that she has gone to st. Kitts in the
    summer months. She is now in the process of doing her
    oral defense. It has taken her three years to get her PHD.
    If I hear anything else, I will let you know.

    My Bro just graduated with his Phd in Education. It took a little over two years.

    It seemed rigorous and he spent 4 weeks in beautiful St.Kitts / Nevis.

    As said before, hot and many monkeys.

    This is not a joke.

    Is this the same Berne that many had classified as a degree mill? Accreditation from an Island Country with offices in NH? If so, it seems that Berne may be going legit. based on the residency requirement, and duration of programs. I recall someone referred to Berne as GAAP.

    I must admit that I was considering Berne, but, when I realized that I would have to list St. Kitts as the location of the college, on my resume, I felt that was a red flag.

    I am working on a Masters in HR Management from a California Approved School.

    RJT: it seems that Berne may be going legit. based on the residency requirement . . .

    John: A required residency would an encouraging sign -- but they don't require it. As I reported here earlier this year, when a reader wrote to them that he wanted to enroll for the Ph.D. but was unable to travel, they immediately wrote back and said that was OK, he could still do the program.

    I spoke to an investigative reporter from New Hampshire about two weeks ago, who was working on a Berne story. Perhaps more will be known soon.

    Thanks.

    Thanks John. Four questions. First, if they are located in NH, why the location in St. Kitts? Also, are they GAAP/Accredited, or state approved? Rushmore is operated similarly, from an island nation; are the schools related? Is the school considered to be "better" than a CA approved school?
