I have seen several posts about Charles Sturt University. Could anyone tell me if it is properly accreditied (RA equal.)? Does anyone have any experience with this school?
    Thanks

Yes, I am two units away from a Graduate Certificate in Network Publishing award. What do you want to know?

    Hi,

As in previous posts on this subject, I'm just completing the Lit Review stage of the DBA.

I have been to OZ and met the directors and others in the program. It is rigorous and their standards on a research based degree are high. The faculty all seem very sharp and competent.

I have a very fine advisor who is concerned and helpful.

The distance can be an issue but I have no complaints so far other than it is too much work. In a way doing a doctorate is a masochistic endeavor.

Yip, CSU is kosher. They won a "Good Uni Guide" award a few years ago, AND they have their own winery. My contacts with CSU have been cordial and efficient. Limited knowledge of them but all positive.

Charlest sturt if quite Low tier university in Australia in term of their reputation and research granted by the gov't.
If you want to have the Best just go to G-8 Universities which stands for group of eight which have the biggest research allocation and well known of its reputation in Australia. The group include:

    1.Australian National university
    2.The university of Sydney
    3.Melbourne Univ.
    4.Univ. of Western Australia
    5.Adelaide Univ.
    6Univ. of New South Wales
    7.Quensland Univ and

I am thinking of the Master of Networking and System Administration. If I can get credits for my MCSE & MCSA as stated in another post, it would be worth looking into.

    Hi

While I can google pages on CSU's site for these programs, when I go to their front door and their DL programs I find no mention of either of these programs. Are they too new or no longer offered? Is there some other reason they don't promote them? Many thanks.

    @@@

Indeed, CSU is a regional, fully accredited, Australian government owned institution.

Are their degrees equivalent to RA degrees in USA?

CSU is an accredited australian university. It is GAAP and it will be considered equivalent to an RA university in the US. It is a low tier university in Australia but the difference between the best and the worst in Australia is not as big as with american universities. It is a very good option since the price you pay is about the same you will pay for an unaccredited option in the US like KW or CCU. However, at the master's level you have also many good australian universities that rank higher than CSU. The best is to subscribe to the good universities guide in order to get all the data. It has information like salaries by university and degree of difficulty for exams. One good or bad thing about CSU is that they don't have proctored exams, it means that you don't have to travel to write the final exam as most of the australian universities.

Re: Re: Charles Sturt University ?

    Huh?

I am a student at CSU pursuing the Graduate Certificate in Network Publishing. I had two units in the semester just ending and had two proctored exams here in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Perhaps some degrees require them and some don't?
