I thought someone stated that you couldn't sell and edu domain name? Does anyone have any information on how this occured?

    Interesting.

Distance.edu was owned by the phony LaSalle University in Louisiana.

When LaSalle founder James Kirk went to prison, LaSalle was taken over by the LaSalle Education Corporation, which allegedly had no connection with Kirk.

Kirk's ex wife LaVerne told ABC 20/20 that Kirk was still involved in running LaSalle, even from prison.

When Kirk got out of prison, he became involved secretly with LaCrosse University.

Now LaCrosse owns the website previously owned by the corporation that Kirk allegedly had nothing to do with.

LaSalle morphed into Orion College (the LaSalle-LA name was fatally injured), which applied for DETC accreditation. They were turned down by DETC, and went out of business shortly afterwards.
