The esteemed, brilliant, blah blah blah Minister off Education, Kader "Fleurs du" Asmal, has announced his absolutely final unalterable blah blah blah merger plan. Details with an exact list of what's what can be found at: http://www.iol.co.za/index.php?newslett=1&click_id=79&art_id=vn20021210060028780C912019&set_id=1
And this somehow puts more South African blacks in more seats in more classes??? Has anyone other than Asmal, himself, have a cue what is going on????
Thanks for posting the link. I had been wondering how this was going, as we haven't talked about it here for a few weeks. This was also the most comprehensive article that I have seen. Still, didn't it seem to contradict itself at one place, when it first said, The same principle of spreading centres of learning throughout the country has saved the universities of Venda and Zululand, whose demise was widely predicted. Instead, these two and Unitra's medical school will be merged. then later said, University of Zululand (unaffected) University of Venda (unaffected) Just wondering. I suppose I have an interest since I plan to work toward my MA in English with UNIZUL, starting this spring... anyway, thanks, later, clint
Bill, I have lost the link, but there is an official release from Asman that basically says UNIZUL is not really affected (at least as far as realignment, mergers, etc). So you are right. about the greek comment... well, I really meant to already take Greek...really.... Actually, somehow, I have always eluded Greek, but now that I am also involved in an MA in Christian Ministry, my day has come. I must receive credit for 6 hours. Unfortunately, ACU doesn't offer it DL, and RTS, etc are WAYYY too expensive. Right now, it looks like I might just purchase Mounce's material, try to learn on my own and see if I can test out...but I digress. Again, you are right - where is that Theo forum.... clint
Yeah, I know. There are several factors involved with my decision (which I really haven't made yet, but I must consider these things). One is that the church that supports me in this field is paying for the courses, so I have to make sure the course comes from a place acceptable to them. Two is that it must be transferable to Abilene Christian Univ. Three, it can't be too expensive. My budget for this is limited, and ACU gives me a great deal (350 per course). But I am still looking and pondering... thanks, clint
Greek Clint, In addition to RTS and ACCS, look at Moody Bible Institute (undergraduate RA), Northwestern College (undergraduate RA), Tennessee Temple University (undergraduate TRACS), and Luther Rice Seminary (graduate TRACS). Northwestern uses the Mounce text. Dave
