    Hello everyone-

I have a question for those of you who are studying or have studied at the UOL: how was the admissions process? I have to admit, I'm a little bit confused as to what sort of documentation the admin office is looking for. I'm going to be sending a HS transcript as well as transcripts for the colleges I've attended since then. I realize that each program has slightly different requirements (I will be studying English) but I'm mainly curious about the general entry requirements.

    U of L

    I'm currently reg'd as a 1st yr LLB student @ U of L.

I found the admissions process quite straight forward. At my request, my high school, college & university sent original transcripts to U of L's admissions office. Once admissions has all your transcripts, it doesn't take very long to get a response.

If they require anything further they'll let you know.

    Good luck!

I am not and have never been a U of L student but I've spent some time surfing around on their web site. Sometimes the documentation requirements can seem complicated because of the slight differences in language. If you email them they are usually quite helpful in answering questions. I'd suggest that you request a prospectus as this has some detailed information about the application process. I believe that you've missed the application deadline for this year so there's no real rush at this point. Here's the deal: Fill out the application. Include a copy of your birth certificate, passport or marriage certificate (this is evidence of your formal, legal name). Include "official" copies of ALL your transcripts. If your transcripts do not specifically state that you've graduated/received a degree then you must include the original diploma, NOT a copy. There are details on how to do this so that it gets safely returned to you. Send all this in with the fee and the "fee slip." They will acknowledge receiving your admissions packet and if you are accepted they'll send you an "offer letter," and a registration form which you need to complete and return along with the registration fee. At this point I'd also suggest you find out where your examination center will be. The exams are alleged to be difficult but manageable. Good luck,
    Jack

Thanks for the quick response you two.

Jack: I actually have a prospectus, I think this is just a case of lack of sleep warping my thought processes a bit. My 8 mo. old has kept me up for the last two weeks and I am going into that confused, paranoic state where simple procedures seem unnecessarily complex. I did miss the deadline but that's OK- the extra time it will take to register will give my son some time to mature...a couple of months makes a big difference at this age!

    Thanks again!

Verde - No problem. My kiddo is 16 months old now and sleeping through the night. I'm very grateful at being able to return to something that vaguely resembles a normal sleep pattern. Besides, we all know that "It's not easy being green." Best of luck with your studies.
