Does anyone have any knowledge of Fort Hays State University?

I am specifically interested in the Master of Liberal Studies. The offer a large number of concentrations (about 30- 14 online) ranging from Criminal Justice to Human Resource Mgmt to Social Science Education .

It is a 31 credit hour degree at $133.50 per credit hour. Seems to be pretty reasonable, if the quality is good!

    Thanks for your input.

Good Morning, I have not taken a course there but my daughter and husband have taken courses. The customer service is excellent and I have hopes that they continue to expand the degree options. The price is wonderful....Have a good holiday. Hille

Ft Hays Stae University is a regionally accreedited university in western Kansas. It is well known in the state and produces most of the teachers and school administrators in the western part of the state. They are in a relatively remote rural area and have learned to offer their students many unique options to overcome geography. My father earned both his BA and MEd their (tradtionally) and my mother took distance courses for her MEd. The school is well rspected in the state and in the area it serves. It is much llike any other regional university that is not the states primary university. It is a division II NCAA school athlectically and has several wonderful programs.

The U.S. Navy has a partnership with Fort Hays for their BS in General Studies with concentrations. Before leaving the Navy, my navy educational advisor gave high recommendation for Fort Hays due to their low tutition and good dealings with the Navy. But since I was already in a degree program at another school, I didn't

I plan on trying their MLS degree program in Internetworking and Telecommunications when I'm finish with my Bachelors.

As a matter of personal interest, Fort Hayes' MLS does mention a concentration in English, just like CSUDH has a concentration in Literature for the MA in Humanities.

Of course, one only needs the 18 credits they include in the English concentration to teach English at a junior college. However, someone else (among the millions) who has an MA in English would probably take the position first. Especially if they have (thanks steve!) teaching experience.
