'Why dont you order one and see for yourself'. It goes like this.."you may get that wonderful Job, Career and promotion that youv'e always wanted and for less than $200.00"

Note the words UN-Accredited & not a Toll free number, what a sham.

Would be interesting though..dont you think?

It appears that this may be the same degree mill that has been vigorously spamming mailboxes for a few years now. They seem to change their name every few months and change their phone numbers even more often. There have been a good number of newspaper articles written about this place, most have been extremely amusing.

You have hit the nail directly on the head with your question. The typical way that degree mills avoid prosecution is to keep this question open. As long as there's no law enforcement official that thinks it is he/her responsibility to go after the fraud then the degree mill keeps operating. It is why degree mills play games with moving their mailbox from one state to another. It is why this particular scam changes their phone number so often. It is why this particular scam doesn't even bother mentioning the degree mill name in the email and why that name changes so often.

If any law enforcement agency was interested, I'm sure that they could easily track down where the money goes. Chances are that if they did, it wouldn't be in their own legal jurisdiction anyway. So they don't bother and the frauds are free to scam another day.

This is the company based in Romania for which ten regulars on this forum contributed money a couple of months ago to buy the 'insider' information being sold by an unhappy employee.

We now have incredibly detailed information on the operation, including the name of the American who owns it, the street address, the names of the associated companies, the code names and passwords and numbers of accounts, descriptions of exactly how the business is run, and so on.

The question now is: what do we do with this information? It would do no good simply to put it all up on the internet, since the business would simply move to another location.

Since the Romanian authorities are 'on the take,' there is no hope of trying to talk to them.

There is a possibility, but we don't have proof, that some of the $100,000,000+ taken in has gone to terrorist causes. That might interest US authorities who otherwise seem unable to deal with operations outside the US.

We have tried to interest major media -- 60 Minutes, 20/20, etc. -- to no avail.

And there is rests, for the moment.

  7. Thanks for the update, John.

I had forgotten about Bear's hapless band of Walter Mitties and its pursuit of the wrongdoers.
