I have a very erratic schedule and have been taking OL courses fron MSU. All testing is done OL, except for the College Algebra course. I would hate to take the course and be out of town for the proctored exams and waste the course and money. Does anyone know an Accredited college that offers College Algebra OL and has ALL of their tests OL? Thank for any help you can offer.

I am in a totally online program at Baker College of Flint, Michigan [www.baker.edu] and both Algebra I and II are required for the Bachelors of CIS. I was given credit for the first course when I enrolled, due to previous studies, but I will shortly be taking the Algebra II course. To the best of my knowledge, the tests will be online just like the other courses.

Chemeketa Community College might be an option. Chemeketa Online has a large variety of courses, including algebra, with most testing done online.

Chemeketa works on the quarter hour system I believe, and that would need to be taken into account. As always, check with the receiving institution regarding the acceptability of transfer credit.

    Hi,
I just finished college algebra ( one of my last and online) at Limestone College, there was 5 quizzes, midterm and final over a 8 week course format. It is a RA college under SACS. Limestone is a decent college, offering traditional campus and "virtual campus" classes in a web CT format, both formats of which I took advantage! Limestone enabled me to gain admission to a damn good grad school- what more can I ask out of a college? You will need to have the college approve a proctor for the midterm and final, this is how it works: A simple form for your proctor to fill out and a letterhead stating your proctors position. My proctor was a high school teacher and the letterhead was from the school's office in which he worked, simply stating he did work for them and in that capacity- it was practically painless. The instructor will email your proctor the exams on a specific date and want them faxed back to her on another due date. The five quizzes were " take homes", actually got all five to work on the first day of class, so you can do these at somewhat your own pace; the midterm and final.....well that was another matter but only about 25 questions long and un-timed. My proctor got a kick out watching me squirm!! If not mistaken, I believe their web site has the proctor applications available,so you will know exactly if you would like to jump through these required "hoops".
    Good Luck,
    Gavin

You might want to check out UC Berkeley Extension and Cero Coso on-line. Both schools offer DL math classes.
